Rob Mac Music

I bought Charles Bradley’s album the other day from Amazon the other day and I haven’t been disappointed. I’ve listened to the album all the way through twice a day for the past week, I’ve also watched this video every day too! He has so much soul that I get shivers listening to his voice. In this video I wanted to cry he evokes so much emotion!

You can buy his album here

New Artist Alert - Smoove and Turrell

I’m thinking of making this new music alert a more prominent thing in my blog, as a musician I am always looking for new music to listen to especially in the genre that I am to perform in.

You dont know-Smoove & Turrell by SMOOVE AND TURRELL

Smoove and Turrell again are based in the North of England and signed to the same label as Dr. Rubberfunk who I blogged about last Friday. John Turrell actually featured on one of the tracks that I posted. Smoove and Turrel are another project that Turrell is involved with and his partner in crime is Smoove. I’ve been on their myspace listening to their tracks and I love their vibe and sound. It’s not as tight as the the Menahan Street Band who I posted about the other day but they are still funky.

A couple of weeks ago I posted something about Lee Fields being the coolest man alive, after I saw him advertising a Dutch magazine via Vimeo. Well, if you read my blog you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Lee Fields and this post is related. When Molly and I went to see Lee Fields at the Worldwide Awards, hosted by Giles Peterson the Menahan Street Band supported him and also played along with his tracks. In total they must have been on stage well over an hour and they were fantastic. So here are a few more details about the band and also a track from their album, ‘Make The Road While Walking

“The Menahan Street Band is a collaboration of ten musicians from Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings (Dave Guy, Homer Steinweiss, Fernando Velez, Bosco Mann), El Michels Affair (Leon Michels, Toby Pazner), Antibalas (Nick Movshon, Aaron Johnson) and The Budos Band (Mike Deller, Daniel Fodder), brought together by musician/producer Thomas Brenneck (Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Budos Band, Amy Winehouse).”
